Job Description

This position helps prepare the way for the work of salvation and exaltation by fostering an environment of reverence and respect and helps customers to make informed product decisions. Works autonomously in managing all store functions of a small to medium store. The primary duty of the role is to supervise a total staff equivalency of at least 2 FTE comprised of store clerks, clerical employees, volunteers. Supervision includes responsibility for hiring, firing, CAP, and employee training, in consultation with Area management and HR.

Secondary duties could include a variety MMD Support Services duties of equal or lesser complexity.

The incumbent of this role must be endowed and hold a current recommend.

  • Directs all store operations of a small to medium store with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Performs and oversees work activities of Store Clerks including: greeting customers, personal fitting consultation and product knowledge, cleaning and organizing store, shelves and displays, and selling merchandise
  • Responsible for the training and development of staff including recommendations for hiring, firing, advancement, or promotion, in consultation with Area Management and HR
  • Manages relationships with service missionary coordinators to coordinate staffing needs (where applicable)
  • Responsible to oversee the planning and preparation of work schedules and keep records of employees’ schedules and timesheets, and validation of working time (if applicable)
  • Oversees the store operation schedule and responsible for key performance indicators including: inventory goals, expense goals, sales indicators and exceptional customer service
  • Oversees process of managing store presentation and retail visual standards
  • Reviews inventory and sales records, ensures sufficient in-stock levels and adequate inventory to meet customers’ needs, and maintains awareness of and provides input regarding consumer demand
  • Monitors and assists in planning of annual budget, manages expenses, and proposes future project costs
  • Provides and ensures excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers, responding to customer inquiries and complaints, and acting as a path for escalation
  • This job may include a variety of additional MMD Support Services duties of equal or lesser complexity
  • Bachelor’s degree holder

  • 3–5 years of retail experience, with supervisory or management background

  • Strong leadership and customer service skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment

  • Willing to work flexible schedules, including weekends

  • Current temple recommend holder

  • Able to start ASAP
